Klaus Paschkewitz turned away from figurative painting at an early stage, aligning himself with the avant-garde of the time. Apart from his teacher Eduard Bargheer, it is above all the artists Paul Klee, Marc Rothko, Paul Cezanne and William Turner who have inspired his work to a decisive extent. Exhibitions in Berlin, Wiesbaden Hamburg, Frankfurt, Essen and Munich have made him many fans and friends.
