the Berlin Wall by Thierry Noir
Thierry Noir was the first artist to paint his works on the Berlin Wall.
Today his "WALL HEADS" in the painting "hearts and lips" are world famous as are also "running people”, “puzzle” and “les fleurs du mal". Side by side with works by artists such as Warhol, Lichtenstein and Keith Haring, Noir's paintings on the Berlin Wall are rated today masterpieces of pop art. The last original pieces of the Berlin Wall with motifs by Thierry Noir were auctioned by Sothebys in Monte Carlo in 1990 for the spectacular sum of 1.5 million €.
For this commemorative edition each motif was recreated by Thierry Noir as an original serigraph on heavy "Alt Worms" quality hand-made paper; each print is numbered and signed by the artist.
